University Committee on Educational Policy (UCEP)

The University Committee on Educational Policy (UCEP) advises the Academic Senate and University president on matters of educational policy, including the establishment, modification, or disestablishment of academic programs and units across the University. The committee also analyzes and reports on Senate legislation or administrative policies involving questions of educational policy. In this systemwide role, UCEP consults with administrative units at the campuses and UC Office of the President, and members represent the committee on the advisory councils for the UC Washington Center and UC Education Abroad Program. The committee’s work helps ensure the quality, coherence, and strategic direction of UC academic programs. Service on UCEP offers faculty the opportunity to shape educational policy, contribute to decisions about academic programs, and advance UC systemwide priorities in higher education.
