UCOPE English for Multilingual Students Advisory Group (UCOPE-EMS)

The English for Multilingual Students Advisory Group (EMS AG) reports to the University Committee on Preparatory Education (UCOPE) on the success of UC students from diverse linguistic backgrounds. In this systemwide role, the advisory group evaluates campus practices, coordinates with relevant Academic Senate bodies, and develops recommendations to better prepare students from diverse linguistic backgrounds to succeed academically at UC. The advisory group’s work helps ensure programmatic consistency across campuses and the timely advancement of students toward their educational goals and degrees. Service on EMS AG offers faculty the opportunity to shape policies and practices that directly affect student success at UC.
