The UCOPE Entry Level Writing Requirement Coordinating Council (ECC) was formed in 2024 to serve as an advisory group to UCOPE and coordinate the collection of data and information from each UC campus to deliver an annual report to UCOPE about the University of California’s Entry Level Writing Requirement (ELWR) and writing placement systems. UCOPE is the oversight committee as designated by Senate by-laws and will make policy recommendations and decisions based on the ECC’s report. The ECC will then coordinate the communication of UCOPE’s recommendations and decisions to the individual campuses.
