University Committee on Faculty Welfare (UCFW)

The University Committee on Faculty Welfare (UCFW) advises the Academic Senate and University president on issues and policies that have an impact on faculty well-being and conditions of employment. In this systemwide role, the committee engages regularly with systemwide administration leaders to develop policies and practices for salary administration and benefits coverage, including dependent care, retirement, and insurance, and access to University-sponsored housing programs. The committee’s work helps ensure that faculty recruitment and retention offers are competitive. Service on UCFW offers members the opportunity to support faculty thriving, and preserve faculty excellence and the strength of the University as a whole.
