The Editorial Committee assesses new books and newly launched journals from the University of California Press and advises the Press on trends in the academy and fields where the Press actively publishes. In this systemwide role, members review all manuscripts, as well as associated documents related to the quality and significance of material proposed for publication. The committee’s work helps to ensure that publications are rigorously researched and effectively peer reviewed. Service on the Editorial Committee offers faculty the opportunity to engage in the evaluation of scholarly work aligned with the mission and values of the University of California.
