University Committee on Preparatory Education (UCOPE)

The University Committee on Preparatory Education (UCOPE) monitors and conducts regular reviews and evaluations of undergraduate preparatory education. In addition, the committee supervises the University of California’s Entry Level Writing Requirement, with special emphasis on establishing appropriate standards for its fulfillment, and UCOPE monitors the development and use of placement processes in writing, math, and other areas as warranted.
