University Committee on Research Policy (UCORP)

The University Committee on Research Policy (UCORP) advises the University president on research matters. In this systemwide role, the committee works closely with research administrators to convey faculty input into developing, coordinating, and revising general research policies and procedures. The committee also conducts on behalf of the Academic Senate formal reviews of multicampus research units (MRUs) to assess their scholarly or scientific merit, and their alignment with systemwide and campus research priorities. Service on UCORP offers faculty the opportunity to engage with systemwide leaders in research and innovation, contribute to shared governance of research policy, and shape how research is fostered at the University of California.
