The University Committee on Committees (UCOC) appoints the chairs and vice chairs of all standing committees of the systemwide Academic Senate, as well as the general membership of all other Senate committees that report to the Assembly. In this systemwide role, the committee works with Senate divisions to identify and nominate faculty for service on Senate committees, workgroups, and administrative bodies, helping ensure broad and appropriate faculty representation. The committee helps sustain effective shared governance by placing faculty in roles where they can contribute their expertise and perspectives to systemwide issues. Service on UCOC offers faculty the opportunity to shape Senate leadership and membership, influence faculty participation in University governance, and support the recognition of Senate service through systemwide leadership awards.
