Academic Council (COUNCIL)

The Academic Council serves as the executive committee of the Assembly of the Academic Senate and advises the University president on a broad range of academic, administrative, and policy matters of systemwide concern. In this systemwide role, the Council coordinates the work of systemwide Senate committees, integrates viewpoints from across campuses, and engages regularly with senior University leadership. The Council’s work helps ensure that faculty perspectives inform high-level decision-making and that Senate priorities are advanced consistently across the system. Service on the Academic Council offers faculty the opportunity to lead in systemwide governance, shape Senate priorities, and contribute to matters affecting the University as a whole.
