Board of Admissions and Relations with Schools (BOARS)

The Board of Admissions and Relations with Schools (BOARS) advises the University president on matters related to undergraduate admissions across the University. In this systemwide role, the committee establishes and monitors systemwide admissions standards, and engages with administrative units, intersegmental education partners, and other state partners on issues affecting freshman and transfer student access and preparation. The committee’s work helps ensure that admissions policies are fair, transparent, and aligned with the University’s educational mission and commitment to student success. Service on BOARS offers faculty the opportunity to represent their campus perspective, shape systemwide admissions policy and practices, and collaborate across the UC system and beyond.
