Frank Choy

Dr. Choy was a distinguished surgeon in private practice and had a long association with the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Frank Choy was appointed a clinical assistant in the School of Medicine in 1949 and was promoted to the rank of clinical instructor in 1952, assistant clinical professor in 1959, associate clinical professor in 1972, clinical professor in 1978, and professor emeritus in 1989.

 

He was a respected and valued member of the teaching staff and an excellent role model and teacher to students and residents. After his retirement, he continued to teach the residents on the Gold Surgery service at UCSF. Dr. Choy instructed residents in techniques of minor surgery nearly every week for many years. His skill and gentleness were appreciated by every resident who worked with him.
